the 2012 VRC Pro Racing Calender has been released, check it out under the Events button.
We organize World Series for the 5 most important classes:
- 1:10 electric ISTC
- 1:10 electric ISTC 13.5T Spec
- 1:12 electric
- 1:8 nitro
- 1:10 nitro
These 5 series run at 4 week intervals starting tomorrow for 1:8 nitro, and will finish end of November. We keep the month of December open for the VRC Pro World Championships, as usual.
Some rounds in the series are missing because they will be run on tracks which are not yet released. We will publish these events as soon as these tracks are released.
1:10 ISTC and Spec events run on the same tracks and in the same week, Spec class is restricted to level 4 (Experienced) and lower racers, modified is open to all of course.

Italian racer Kevin Pignotti, just 15 years old, has raced to victory in the first VRC Pro 1:8 World Championships in convincing style. Pignotti had to leave qualifying pole honors to Martin Wollanka from Austria, but from then on he was untouchable.
In the 1 hour final at the Luxembourg track he drove faultlessly and needed a turn marshal just once, one lap before the end! With a 16.230 fastest lap and a race average of 16.809 Kevin drove an incredible steady race but also at an incredible fast pace. He also got his race strategy spot on, saving one fuel stop on Babchenko and Wollanka. All 3 top runners went for a tire change half way.
Alexy Babchenko from the Ukrain, and Martin Wollanka made up the podium 2 ½ laps down on Pignotti. Their race was very close, Wollanka leading till lap 145, then Babchenko to go in 2nd again, Wollanka returning to second briefly during the last fuel stop but in the end Babchenko finished just 5 seconds in front of the hard pressing Austrian. 1:10 Nitro specialist Frank Hättich has added a 3rd consecutive world title to his impressive VRC career. After winning the title in 2009 at the Tamiya Kakegawa track in Japan, in 2010 in Fiorano Italy, Frank was now victorious at the Pegaso track in Mexico. His main rival was his country fellowman Ronald Völker who charged hard in the 45 minutes main final but fell 3.25 seconds short in the end. Thai ace Pongtorn Trayrananon completed the podium just 1 lap down on the 2 front runners.
The race between Frank and Ronald was incredibly tight. Take a look at the race comparison stats. Ronald Völker delivered an amazing flat race, fastest lap at 16.142, slowest lap 17.712, net race average 16.397, including pit stops 16.616. How on earth can you beat that? We have to ask Frank because he did that with a fastest lap of 16.070, slowest lap of 19.014 and net race average of 16.386, eleven thousands faster per lap on average. 1:12 SCALE ELECTRIC RELEASED
Virtual Racing Industries has added a 4th racing class to their r/c racing sim VRC Pro: 1:12 scale electric on-road. This is a popular class especially during winter time as this class is mainly raced indoors.
The first release for 1:12 are 3 spec chassis, the generic Intercept ER12, the Associated RC12R5 and the new Xray X12. The spec versions of the chassis have limited set-up options so it’s all about racing and not about a lot of knowledge and experience about set-up and squeezing the very last tenth of a second out of your chassis. In Spec racing everybody has the same chance, the best racer wins!
The 1:12 Spec class is raced with stock 10.5T brushless motors with non-boosted electronic speed controllers. VRC Pro offers components from LRP, Nosram, Novak, Tekin and Speed Passion, all in stock specification.

The highly anticipated release date for the new 1:12 class has now been finalized for December 22nd 16:00 hours. The development team is now in the final testing stage and some last minute adjustments are being made to the sound system, causing a 2 day overshoot of the initial expected launch date of December 20.
The first release will be limited to the spec chassis and 10.5T untimed motor. The chassis setup options are restricted to toe angle and gear ratio. The speed controller has options available for throttle and brake settings. The full-option modified chassis, motors and speedo's will be made available at a later stage.

Multiple Euro and ETS champ, Yokomo/LRP and Shepherd factory racer Ronald Völker 
will be competing in 2 major VRC Pro events in December. He will race the 2011 Virtual Worlds 1:10 nitro which will be contested at the Pegaso track in Mexico, this event has started on December 9th and will last till December 22nd. He will face some fierce competition of fellow German Frank Hättich who has specialized in this class and has won almost every single event thus far. Young Italian Kevin Pignotti 
is the dark horse and is currently leading qualifying.
