NEW MEMBERSHIP MODEL, we listened...

We have some exciting news for you. The VRC Pro membership model (trial, lite and full membership) has changed completely into Free-to-Play and All-inclusive full memberships. Thanks to feedback from the community, we now have a much simpler, much more attractive membership structure for all current and future members.

FREE-TO-PLAY (F2P)
This new membership replaces the Trial and Lite memberships, and basically gives you exactly the same as Lite, but now for unlimited time and totally free. Extra tracks, cars and other content, can still be purchased as before.

ALL-INCLUSIVE MEMBERSHIP
This new membership replaces the old Full membership and gives you access to all content: tracks, chassis, components, now and all future releases. As long as you have a valid all-inclusive membership subscription you can enjoy everything VRC Pro has to offer, and you're still building a loyalty discount (up to 30%) for your next renewal. We offer 1,3,6,12 and 24 months All-inclusive subscriptions, and even a premium Unlimited period subscription. Premium members pay once and then enjoy VRC Pro to the max for unlimited time.

When your all-inclusive membership expires you will be reverted to the Free-to-Play account, so you can continue to enjoy VRC Pro with the basic Free-to-Play content, including all content you may have purchased as a Free-to-Play member.

CONVERSION
For Lite members nothing changes except that there is no subscription time limit any longer. Trial members are automatically converted to Free-to-Play and will enjoy no time limit any longer.

Current Full members are automatically converted to the All-inclusive membership for the remaining period of their current subscription. This is a great increase in value! On top of that all your purchased vEuros are refunded back into the Free-to-Play account, so you can re-buy your content should you not want to continue the all-inclusive membership.

With the new membership model we also hope to rapidly grow the VRC community, meaning more racers in our competitions and multi-player sessions.

This big change is by no means an easy step for us, but we are confident that it will prove to be the right decision in the long run. We appreciate your support for the VRC Pro project and look forward growing the virtual r/c racing community together.

I have lost all my tracks and cars that I was racing for to get, the vEuros compensation is just a part of the vEuro that were gained previously (and the tracks got more expensive).

I feel that the subscription/F2P model has no middle ground for casual players, since you will pay way more to buy the tracks than subscribe. A full simulator should cost around 100€, not over 500€. or 125€ per year.

Also, a "free to play" game means that you can access the same content if you pay or you play, only the amount of time that you will have to spend to do so changes regarding if you pay to get the content faster or not. Other games are called "pay to play" since you cant access the full game or compete at the top level without paying.

I feel that instead of taking a step towards having more members, you closed it down a little... but i guess your numbers will show that in the months to come.

Good luck to you all, but I guess you wont be seeing me for a while.

Kevin you have to look under expansions in the e-shop or copy and paste this link http://www.vrcworld.com/eshop/product.aspx?90

Something that was not mentioned in the News statement about conversion:

It appears that any expansion packs that you purchased with real money were just straight rolled over into your F2P portion of your account.

For example:
I bought the LRP motor/ESC pack, and they all show as purchased on my account.

I believe that if you purchased the offroad expansion pack, everything included in that pack will show as purchased now, and if you bought the Tekin pack, or any of the track packs, they will all show as purchased.

When 1/8 nitro buggy comes out (fingers crossed that it will be soonish!), Tony has a WHOLE BUNCH of tracks that are ready to go too... Now with the all-inclusive subscription, we will get it all as soon as it's available! SWEET!

Wow that is amazing. I will have to get off my behind and fix my home computer asap if that is the case. Although as long as it releases before the snow flies I'll be happy.

This is what I've wanted all along, just charge me money but give me everything without nickel and diming me every two weeks, I hate having to unlock a bunch of BS in all sorts of games now.

hi tim & josh!!! ok i see. thanks a lot guys.in my case i am a member (full member since 2011)and until febbrary 2015. ciao marco
Posted by: Tim Bervoets (NL) on 4.6.2013 16:25:50 (UTC) That's correct. All-inclusive members don't have to buy any tracks/cars/components because everything is included in the full membership. But free-to-play users can use their vEuros to buy extra tracks or cars (F2P comes with 8 free tracks and all spec cars). All old full members' purchased vEuros were refunded in their F2P account, so if your all-inclusive membership expires then yes you can use those vEuros to (re)buy your tracks and cars. Hope this clarifies Edited by author: 4.6.2013 16:27:21 GMT
