More Than a Game
In the virtual world there are many avenues of entertainment. VRC is one such avenue, in this game we play or race against others from around the world. We race in many cases the exact car that we race in real life. In other games one may become a soldier in real life and actually shoot an M16 or Ak47 but with consequences that will last forever. One may have a chance to see a Formula 1 car in a show room but never actually feel the power and the rush from pushing the pedals. This game VRC is more than a game it is a SIMULATOR for the real counterpart of radio controlled car racing. Anyone with a couple hundred dollars can buy a real RC car and go to the track.

Four classes, Two Champions
This week marked the end of season two for 1/8 scale sports cars and 1/10 ISTC classes. Each category has two classes; modified and spec. 1/10 ISTC Mod and Spec, was all about Mustafa Alp winning the championship by 16 points in modified class and 36 points in the spec class. The 1/8 scale class was the same story with Giorgio Mingotti stealing the points championship in the modified class by a margin of 11 points and 17 points in the spec class.
Race Report
The closest race of the weekend was the 1/10th ISTC Modified race. Mustafa ALP, Graham Raistrick, Patrick Bader raced for the top spot. Mustafa started in the 3 spot with Patrick in the 5 and Graham in the 6th starting position on the grid. This has been a frantic two weeks with loads of activities, my 7th and 8th grades class have been promoted to the next grade, the RC Expo came to town and so did Pieter and Tim. My local track hosted the Mid-Summer Shoot Out and the VRC Series races have concluded round five of six. This is the sign of the changing seasons. One thing sticks in my head as I observed all of these events, life is so much more enjoyable when you share it with somebody.
The parents laughed at the promotion while I told stories of their kids and the things they accomplished this year. Pieter and Tim Bervoets are a great father son team I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work beside them if only for a day. Virtual Racing Industries Pieter and Tim Bervoets can look back at a very successful RCX Show at the the Long Beach Convention Center in California June 1st and 2nd.
With the support of Dell/Alienware, providing all the hardware to set up an 8 set multi-player racing stage at the VRC Pro booth, with in the center a 3.5 meter wide projection screen used with 2 HD projectors to show all the racing action, the VRC Pro booth was one of the busiest visitor attractions at the show. From Saturday morning till Sunday late afternoon, over 500 racers and (former) world champions picked up one of the Spektrum DX-4R transmitters to enjoy the Virtual RC Racing Experience. More than 2000 people visited the booth, most of them totally amazed about the realistic r/c racing action they could either experience themselves or follow on the large center screen.
The VRC Pro booth was staffed with VRC members from the LA region, putting up a great show with pounding music, fast r/c racing action and exciting race commentary. ... read more

Full Throttle R/C Raceway, aka Kissimmee, has been released and is the latest addition to a growing number of world renowned on-road race tracks in VRC Pro. This track was earlier released in VRC v3 and was very popular with the racers because of its fast yet technical lay-out. The Kissimmee track was host of several major ROAR and FORGASS Nationals and also hosted the IFMAR Worlds for 1:10 electric in 2006.
