VRC Carpet 3 track. This is the electric racer's dream come true. A carpet track with interesting elevations such as a double deck back straight and a fly-over crossing in the infield. This track can be attacked hard but requires also some caution especially on the ramps.

2016 SEASON 1 1:10 ISTC 13.5T SPEC ROUND 1 Carpet 3

03.02.2016

Report by J-P.Huhtala (VRC race reporter)

2016 Season 1 and round 1, Carpet 3

1:10 ISTC 13.5 SPEC, Season 1 started from VRC Carpet 3 track. Earlier in this track, modified class started they season. Also in this spec class, miliar names were at the top. Finnish factory driver Viljami Kutvonen who wonned that modified race, was also scary fast with these spec cars.
At qualifying Kutvonen and French Steve Favrelle competed with very tiny differences of TQ.
At the end, TQ went to Kutvonen but only half second faster than Favrelle. Britains gentleman Graham Raistrick was also on the fly, only 1.5seconds behind Kutvonen.
When race started, Kutvonen made little mistake at second corner and Favrelle got the lead. But after few laps driven, Kutvonen got his lead back and battle was ready. Lap by lap these two laprobots continue fighting at lead, until at 10th lap once again at curve compination 2-3, Kutvonen made little mistake and Favrelle was pleased. Race was continued very very close differences, both waiting others mistake to gain the lead. Coming to curve 6 at lap 15, it happends, Favrelle made little mistake of cutting the corner and Kutvonen goes to lead. From this point race was Viljami`s. Close battle, both drivers were driving consistently 13.7 laps.

At the back, race was also tight, Lehmann, Bailes and Raistrick were racing for third place. From lap 5 it looked that Lehmann is getting away and he is going to catch Kutvonen and Favrelle. But few too hungry corners was dropping him a little. At this point Graham with consistent driving, gained the gap to Lehmann and passed him at the end.

Bailes early mistake at lap 7 in turn 4, dropped him back to 7th place. Consistently fighting Dana drove very fast, he did tough battle of 5th place with Portugues Nuno Correia and Czech Milan Peka. At the end Dana saved that 5th place. As we saw from Qualifying result, this was expected. There was no room for mistakes and every time it happend, it was not easy to gain that place back. Nice driving, cant wait the next one!!

Hello Christoph

Thank you about compliments Christoph. They are different guys who are doing those comments to videos. My "rally english" would be propably huge "killing" for those videos. Nice thought, no doubt. These just takes so much time to do these, im pleased if ive effort do it like this.

Thank you very much for this race-report. Very good!
May I ask if it´s possible to have a comment in the video too in the future? Some slow-motion outtakes from interesting decisive racing scenes would also be very nice.
Keep it up!
