PRO class
Dana Bailes (US) has dominated Series 3 from start till almost the finish, only in the very last double points event at Bangkok he was edged out by a second by Barnebas Toth, but with 5 wins and a second he is the undisputed winner this season. Atsushi Hasegawa, a die-hard 1:12 racer from Japan secured 2nd place with 2 seconds and 2 third places, just ahead of Graham Raistrick (UK) with 2 seconds, one third and a 4th. Barnabas Toth had to settle for 4th this season despite winning the season closer at Bangkok in convincing style. The heat is turned up on Bailes, the competition is moving closer and closer.

No surprise USA also dominated the nations ranking with 5 racers in the top-30, with Japan and Hong Kong in second and third.

So who is Dana Bailes…?
“I race 17.5 and 13.5 1/12th scale and World GT. I won the US Indoor Championship in Cleveland in 2002 in Stock 1/12th. I'm thinking about trying modified ... read more

Season 3 report 1:8 nitro sportscars

PRO class
Hiromu Fujii from Japan has been crowned series champion. 3 Second places and a 4th place at the last double-points race at Lloret de Mar secured victory for the young Japanese. Barnabas Toht from Hungary finished just 2 points ahead of Giorgio Mingotti (Italy) on 2nd place. Mingotti finished with the same points as Luke Duthie from Australia, but Giorgio’s victory at Lloret got him the podium place. Kevin Pignotti finished 6 th despite having won 3 races and 2nd at Kissimmee. Missing the last double pointer at lloret cost him the championship.

Italy won the Nations ranking by a mile (no surprise really…) before Switzerland, Spain, Norway and Hong Kong. Good to see these smaller countries now becoming competitive in this class! 90 Racers in total competed in 1:8 nitro sportscars.

Another exciting season is under our belt. This was the first season where all events were split up in 3 racer classes Club, Sport and Pro. Looking at the results we can conclude that this has produced much more evenly contested championships in all of the classes. With 5 modified classes, 5 spec classes and 3 champions per class we now celebrate 30 new champions!

Racer classes, promotion and demotion
At the end of the first season with racer classes we are keeping an eye on who moves up in the racer class and who doesn’t. Remember, when your measured skill level goes up to a higher class you will race in the higher racer class next season. When your skill level remains the same you may opt to race in a higher racer class next season or stay in the same class. A racer cannot race in a lower racer class than his skill level indicates.

The skill level is measured every event you participate in and is always weighed against results of other racers in the same class. So when you do more events and... read more
