QUALIFYING
Kevin Pignotti from Italy has taken Top Qualifier position after an almost 3 months long qualifying period. Kevin did a total of 114 runs over this period of time with 50 finishes. Of these 50 results he posted just 6 slower than 18 laps results, and 12 sub-5:04 seconds results to take TQ with 18 in 5:01.614, an incredible average of 16.756 sec per lap.

Check out Kevin’s TQ lap time chart at: http://www.vrcworld.com/tracks/laps.aspx?id=465637
Aussie Chris Stack was the closest challenger to Kevin from almost day one and pushed Kevin to go faster and faster. Chris finished 2nd in qualifying 1.792 seconds down on Kevin, with another Italian ace driver Nicola Maronne completing the qualifying podium 3.832 sec. down on TQ.

SEMI FINALS
The semi finals used the normal start position at the back straight so the results cannot be compared directly, but Kevin Pignotti was flying again scoring a winning run of 18 laps in 5:11.800, averaging 16.778 per lap, just 0.02 sec. per lap difference with his TQ run. Chris Stack finished 2nd once more, now 2.066 seconds behind Kevin. Third place went to Mustafa Alp from Turkey 4.022 seconds behind, just edging out Nicola Maronne by 6/10th of a second.

MAIN FINAL
The Main Final is now underway and will finish Sunday night July 23. The best 100 racers get another 10 shots to fight for the all awarding number ONE position and win not only the fantastic S-411 electric 1:10 racing chassis from Serpent, factory powered by LRP and controlled by KO Propo latest EX-1 2.4Ghz system with KIY technology, but also the all paid trip to the Netherlands end of July to compete in the 2012 IFMAR World Championships. Something to fight for.

With just 10 shots at it the racers must feel a lot more pressure. The racers have 4 days to get their 10 runs in. Kevin draw ‘first blood’ and has turned the heat up already scoring a staggering 18 laps in 5:10.768 (ave. 16.718….), using up 9 of his 10 runs on it. This result is even faster than his winning semi final run so Chris, Mustafa, Nicola and the other 96 racers that are still in it now how high the bar is. Has Kevin done enough to win the R2tW title and trip to the Worlds? He has only 2 runs left while his main competitors haven’t used any of their runs yet. It will be a long seat for Kevin till Sunday night 23:00
