By Bruno Eliazord, VRC Pro reporter & Pro driver

Here we are at SPL1 track in Tokyo, for a « flash report » about the 1/8 sportscars spec round 4. 66 drivers from 14 nations came to compete on the oldest permanent tracks in Japan.

Club Class Main Final :

Let's check immediatly the starting grid after the qualyfing round :

1/ Benjamin Krings / 22 laps / 07.08.018
2/ Nuno Lourenco / 22 / 07.17.084
3/ Jodie Grein / 21 / 07.13.614

9/ Ryan Joyner / 18 / 07.19.610
10/ Mario Unverzagt / 17 / 07.06.782

Benjamin krings take a good start from his 1st spot, but Nuno Lourenco take a even better start. He goes far away in the front in the frist laps. After two laps, he already overtake Gary Climie and Mario Unverzagt, who run in the last spots. Benjamin Kring is far behind but he is still second. Nuno Lourenco makes consistent laps around 17.9 secondes, which is very good. Everybody has difficulties to stay on the racing line, the apex, on this « Pac Man » style layout. except for the leader, even if he also does mistakes. There no real battles in this race because the difference of pace between the drivers is too big, and unfortunately Carl huxford, and Ryan Joyner did not start. Finaly Nuno Lourenco wins this race easyly, in front of Benjamin Krings, and Jodie Grein.

Nuno Lourenco, the winner of this race.

10/ Tony Delmastro / 21 / 07.03.410

Robert Yelle takes a good start from the 1st spot, followed by Jacques Blanchin, and Peter Haaima. These three drivers stay close during the first laps. The driving lines are quite good, and consistent. They make laps between 18.2 secondes and 18.9 secondes. Laps after laps, Robert Yelle, streches the gap, and the battle is more for the second spot between Jacques Blanchin, and Peter Haaima.
Finaly nothing change in the lead, Robert Yelle keeps his first spot from the beginning to the end, thanks to an incredible consitency on this track, where you can easyly make a mistake because you have to be very close to the lines, if you want to be fast. The best lap is for Robert Yelle in 17.884s. Good driving Robert !

Robert Yelle, the winner of this race.

Pro Class Main Final :

Starting grid :

1/ Jeffrey Rietveld / 25 laps / 07.14.070
2/ Graham Raistrick / 24 / 07.06.626
3/ Joshua Berman / 24 / 07.07.314

9/ Jose Angel Vera / 23 / 07.04.046
10/ Milan Peka / 23 / 07.09.068

Jeffrey Rietveld take a bad start. Graham Raistrick is able to reach him in the fiorst spot. Just behind Alex Guillot, and Joshua Berman are following very closely. Soon Jeffrey finds his rythm, and leaves no chance to another one to lead this race. Joshua Berman has the wheels on fire. He overtakes Alex Guillot first, and then Graham Raistrick. He is the only one with Jeffrey Rietveld to make some laps under 17 secondes. Quickly Joshua is able to rejoin Jeffrey in the lead. The battle is really beautiful. They so close that sometimes it seems that their cars are just one. Joshua takes the lead to Jeffrey, but Jeffrey stays close, ready to jump on any opportunity.
At mid race, Joshua is still first, jeffrey is behind just for 02 secondes. Will Joshua be able to beat Jeffrey for the first time this season ? Graham Raistrick is 3rd at 5 secondes from the leaders.
At 15 minutes, Jeffrey Rietveld has taken back his first spot, fllowed by Joshua, and Graham.
Another battle is wonderful to watch. The Battle for the 5th spot between Nuno Correia and Alex Guillot. Only 0.2 secondes seperates this two guys during almost all the race. At the end, Nuno will bethe fastest for only 2 secondes in front of Alex. You've given us a great show men ! But the most important thing is the victory, and it goes to Jeffrey Rietveld. But let's notice the amazing race of Joshua Berman. He is the only one to finish in the same lap than the leader, and not far at all. Just 2.198 secondes behind, which is nothing. Joshua Berman has reach another level during this race.

Jeffrey Rietveld, the winner of this race.

Hi guys.
This is a "flash report". A new shorter size of report to make up the lost time. Don't worry, I will continue to write long version reports with more details, interviews, and fun, as soon as I will have done all the flash reports about the past events.
