Hello all!
The race this Saturday is fast approaching. Here is some information you will want to review.
1. The 3 qualifying events will appear the morning of the 19th, approximately 1.5 hrs before round 1 starts. The reasoning behind this is to make this race as real as possible, keeping people from having too much time practicing on the varying weather conditions.
a. The weather ‘forecast’ is posted both on the club page, and our facebook page. This gives you a small range of the weather conditions. They will vary from round to round within this range. Or… will they? Maybe the conditions will be the same every round… it is mother nature after all, who can say what she will do 😉
2. We will use quali-points to setup the mains. That means the combined best 2 out of three rounds will be used to seed the mains. So we recommend not quitting a round because it starts off badly.
3. The way the VRC service works, is the host or ‘server’ takes up one of the 10 slots. This means the max number of drivers we can put in to any race will be 9. We will seed the mains with 7 drivers each main, and bump 2 from the lower mains.
4. Passwords will be different for each main. It is a good idea to print them out, or save a copy of them to you PC in the case that you bump up. These passwords will be sent out before the mains start both by a mass email from VRC, and will be posted on our Discord channel. It would be a good idea for you to join the Discord channel just in case the VRC email goes to you email spam. You do not need to talk or speak within Discord, but again, the passwords will be listed there. https://discord.gg/9N4RSth
a. Another reason being in Discord will be helpful, is if someone is a no show for their main event, or one of the bumps decide not to race, we will post that the 3rd place finisher from the precious main may join. But pay attention and be quick, as if this happens you will have approximately 1 minute to join.
b. If you join the incorrect main event you will be booted from the server, so please pay attention.
5. There will be no collisions on.
6. We will attempt a 5 minute qualifier for every main event. I say attempt because we have often had issues with the server crashing, or not advancing to the race after the qualifier. If either happens:
a. Join back to the server immediately, because the faster you re-connect the better your starting position will be.
b. Know that if this happens to your main event, we will NOT requalify unless it is the A-Main. We want to run this event efficiently and since no collisions will be on, you should be able to move your way up quickly.
7. It seems one bad connection from a racer can affect the lag of the race. There is really nothing we have tried to fix this. There is also no ping test we have found to determine who the trouble connection is. So if this happens in your main, it happens. We currently do not have a way to fix it unless VRC changes the multiplayer code.
8. The qualifying rounds will start on time no matter what. You will have 1 attempt each round, so make them count! The mains should start @ 19:00 GMT. It will take us 20-30 minutes to calculate the quali-points, which should still give you 30 minutes before the main events start.
9. All of the main events will be broadcasted live to our facebook page. Please help spread the word both before the event, and during by sharing the page and stream. https://www.facebook.com/VRCVRE
10. If you have any questions not covered here, please message us here.
This is something different, not what most are used to. Some of you may not like it at first. So have fun with it, and know we are doing our best. Any future events will get better and better each time.
In the words of the great Leeroy Jenkins… LET’S DO THIS!!!
See ya Saturday!

Success all, I will be following this event with great interest. The format is very much along the concept I developed back in 2014, to combine regular 'stand alone' qualifying with multiplayer finals. With streaming being so easy nowadays it could open a window into VRC racing which is for most a 'closed box'. Could add a whole new dimension to VRC!
Let's see how this event works out. I know it is a lot of work to arrange everything with the finals, I have done this once myself, so good luck to Frosty StClair and his team too!

Thanks for putting this on, I have almost never used the multiplayer option, but it is a lot of fun.
Can you go over #6? Is #6 meaning that even if you're an A-main qualifier, you have to run pre-race qualifier once you join the A-main session?
