We are off and racing, week 1 is complete! No need for any sunscreen or bug spray at Neo 1 for this indoor medium sized clay track. Do you need 1 hand or 2 to count the number of broken parts on the huge jump in mod? LOL
Spec saw a nice battle for 3rd between Dave Walker, Sébastien Racine and pancake. Seb was actually ahead of DW until lap 12, he kept it close trying to make a pass but after lap 14 it was just too big of a spread to make up. That same lap 14 mistake was enough for Joel Lagace to get by but on the last lap Seb ran a fast one and made the pass and took 4th overall by just 2 seconds. Fadi Salibi wrapped up the standings in 6th, while John Hollestelle cruises around for 2nd overall.
Its a tough track to get consistent laps on and that showed up in Mod. It was pretty spread out with no one any closer than 14 seconds by the final buzzer but there were some close calls during the 10 minutes! By lap 8 Kevin Tyler could see my bumper and thought about trying to find a way by, just couldn't keep it close enough and a mistake on lap 16 sealed the deal and saw KT$ finish with an easy 2nd overall. Jonathan Hylton, after a few initial close laps with Seb, would stay consistent and roll around for 3rd overall. Seb slid into 4th and DW all alone in 5th. Jeremy Boire would actually have a 16 second lead on Fadi at one point in the race but a long lap 13 would give up the position and see Fadi finish 6th and Jeremy 7th. I think some electronic gremlins hit Joel's car in mod, I saw him out there trying different tires and finally decided to just pulled it off.
Welcome Seb and Jeremy, first timers, and I know they will get faster each week. (you are allowed 4 attempts too!)
This week we are staying indoors but its a more dusty looser track, enjoy!
