The bad news : I got a call from my sponsor this morning, Visa. They were almost going to recall my 1% discount on all RC purchases as a 'contracted customer' driver because of my poor mains at Naxos! I turned on the charm (aka begged) and said I would be better in the future and thankfully kept the contract in place. The good news : SCT is done for this series.
I managed to TQ in spec but got bumped down to 3rd in the main with two DNFs and one posted run full of mistakes. Our Czech racer put in a good run for 2nd place but it was Marc-André Lemieux with his second attempt taking the top spot by 0.024s, being behind all race but making the pass with 2 laps to go. Also in the A Scott Croz and Jonathan Gagnon both moved up 3 spots going from 9th to 6th and 10th to 7th respectively. Big mover for the week was long-time local Ottawa racer Jonathan Gagnon squeaking into the A by 3 seconds to moving up 3 spots and finishing 7th overall. Keith Chan was your BQ and held on to the top B-main spot with the only 12 lapper outside the A.
I thought mod was going to be a battle this week. Matthew Stacey took the TQ by 0.4 seconds over the charging Nathan Glover. In the main though, Nathan had other ideas. With only 1 run he cruised to a 5 second victory over Stacey with only one lap outside the 33s, fast and consistent is a lethal combination.... read more
