2015 SEASON 2 SERIES CALENDAR PUBLISHED

26.06.2015   Category: Site news

We have published the racing calendar for Season 2 which starts on July 11.

2015 SEASON 2 SERIES

Between the end of Season 1 and the start of Season 2 there will be 1 week pause to allow for the skill level adjustments based on Season 1 race results. Racers can then set their new racer class before the start of the new season. You can always opt for a higher racer class than what your skill level indicates, i.e. when your skill rating indicates Club you may opt to race in Sport or even Pro if you feel confident and comfortable with that.

SKILL LEVEL SYSTEM REVISED
We have revised the skill level system to make it more transparent and fair. Currently it is based on your relative performance measured against other racers who have the same skill level. If you did better you would gain some points, if you did worse you would loose some poins. This suystem looked at all events indiscriminate of racing class.

The new system will measure and adjust your skill rating each event and for each racing class. It is measured against the average laptime of the Top qualifyer which is set at 100%. If your ave. laptime in qualifying was 95.45% of TQ your average skill rating for that racing class will be adjusted up or down. So you will have a skill rating for each racing class. It is our intention to also set your racer class for each racing class, so you could be racing in Pro class in 1:8 nitro onroad, and in Club class in 1:10 short course trucks.

Based on your skill rating per class we will set your new racer level (club, sport or pro) at the end of each season.

tq is set in the heat races here locally, main event runs do not count for top qualifier, but say I qualified for the a-main and never started the race I would get a DNF and no points therefore b-main drivers who actually ran the main would accumulate points and be ahead of me in the series points, but if I start the main and break I finish last in the a-main and receive the lowest points for the a but more than the best b-main driver

I also hate to see someone earn more points than me and never even attempt a main, glad Steve has found a way to enjoy the sim, too bad he beats me now

Agree with what you're saying Markku. We want people running their final. So, we just need to set the TQ bonus points at the right level so it's worth getting TQ but doesn't further encourage skipping the final. A small, but still valuable, number of points would be ideal...

+1 I've also suggested this. I think it's a great idea if VRC will implement it!

I have seen too many times that there is some fast guys doing quali and drops some drivers who still wants to be in A final for the first time in bigger races... And those fast guys wont even do a final run... or they push esc if result is going bad...
Then we can see videos with 7 racers etc.

Thats great that those guys get only half of points, but they still dropped some great guys out from that A final.

If there is point to collect then we can see more videos without pole position guys not showing.

Thats not nice.

that's correct, accounts are strictly personal and cannot be transferred to other persons. One of the reasons is that all racing and message history would also change to the other user. When we find out about abuse of VRC accounts we have no other choice than to set the account inactive, even if you would be willing to pay for it.

Just create your own account, pay for your license and support VRC Pro!

I wish that could be introduced for several reasons. I Think many drivers would put in some extra effort to get those points and the qualifiers would tighten up.
And at some tracks (RC Excitement 1, Silver Dollar 2) there is an actual dissadvantage to start in the pole position so without any bonus points at least I don't aim at the pole position.

Great-- a club driver who admits on his profile page that he is using someone else's account wants to make the rules! Take away view choices & loose more members. Not all of us race real rc cars!
Sander stopped racing, I can't change the Name!! This account is unlimited that's why I use it!
This is what the user manual says about that! The VRC Pro membership is strictly personal and accounts cannot be transferred to other persons.

Thanks Steve, have a nice day to!
Greetings Peter!
