After a successful launch of VRC Pro on September first nearly 2000 racers have already signed up and are racing each other in racing events and multi-player sessions. VRI organized 2 event series, Mylaps events for Spec class cars, and Kyosho events for open class. A total of 630 racers took part in these first races. The events have finished this week, here are our brief reports:
MYLAPS ELECTRIC SPEC RACING #1 AT VRC CARPET 2
Czech Zdenek Hamak has taken the very first victory at a VRC Pro racing event, the Mylaps Electric Spec race. 225 Racers from all over the world participated in this event. Luke Duthie from New Zealand finished 2nd a mere 3 seconds behind, and Chris Panton from the USA another 0.2 seconds down made up this truly international podium. Only Hamak broke the 27 lap barrier, the next 49 were all in the 26 laps, very close racing considering Carpet 2 is just an 11-12 second lap for the spec cars.

MYLAPS 1:8 NITRO SPEC #1 AT RC SPEEDWAY SHORT COURSE
This must have been one of the closest races ever in VRC history. In the very last lap Kevin Pignotti managed to pass runner up Giorgio Mingotti to change a 0.12 sec. negative into a 0.17 sec. positive time difference. Obviously Pignotti had aimed for doing just 1 refuel stop but ran out of fuel about a minute before the end allowing Mingotti to catch up as he had already pitted twice. Jose Macia completed the podium just 3 seconds of the leaders after 20 minutes of hard racing at the RC Speedway Short Course.

MYLAPS 1:10 NITRO SPEC #1 AT R/C SPEEDWAY SHORT COURSE
Frank Hattich from Germany has continued where he left off in VRC v3: winning. The first race in VRC Pro Frank to the honors 3 seconds in front of Zdenek Hamak from Czech Republic and Kevin Pignotti from Italy who were just 0.7 seconds apart. A total of 52 racers entered this race.

KYOSHO ELECTRIC RACING #1 AT VRC CARPET 1
Czeck Zdenek Hamak has pulled of another victory, the only racer to hit 26 laps. Kevin Pignotti from Italy finished 2nd just 0.6 sec. of the 26 lap barrier. German Thomas Pannwitz grabbed the last podium place 1 second behind Kevin, but just a mere 0.044 seconds in front of Simon Nicholson from Australia. 109 Racer competed in this race with our own Todd Wasson in 46 and Tony West in 70th position. Watch out, the VRC boys are coming….

KYOSHO 1:8 NITRO RACING #1 AT RC SPEEDWAY LONG COURSE
Ukraine on top of this first ever race at the RC Speedway Long Course. Alexey Babchenko didn’t look back until the finish line to see that he had a 2 lap lead over second placed Antonello Parisi from Italy, and another lap on Czech Zdenek Hamak . A massive win for the Alexey who was simply unstoppable in this race. The lap time comparison sheet looks like one half of a Christmas tree, that consistent. With 4 racers in the top-10 Italy of course dominated the nations challenge.

KYOSHO 1:10 NITRO RACING #1 AT HEEMSTEDE
Another textbook victory for Frank Hattich. The 1:10 nitro specialist from Germany scored a solid 8 second (but one lap down) victory over 2nd placed Chris Stack from Australia. Chris did his fastest lap in his very last lap but it was too little too late. Alexy Babchenko (Ukrain) finished 3rd another lap down. 56 Racers competed in this event with Germany wining the nations challenge over the UK and Australia.
