Following earlier body paintjob projects for the GT3 bodies, we now invite our members with advanced Photoshop skills to start working on paintjobs for the Scorpion short course truck body.
The required files are available from:
Max 3DS model: https://www.vrcworld.com/static/scorpion_max.rar
Photoshop template: https://www.vrcworld.com/static/scorpion_sc_truck_template.rar
Double-click on the files to open the rar file, and place the individual files in a separate folder.
I suggest you create a copy of these files so you always have the original to turn back to.
Once you have created your paintjob you must save your design as a 1024x1024 pixel jpg called 'skor_diff.jpg'
You can view your design with the free Autodesk 3D viewer (browser based) which can be downloaded from https://viewer.autodesk.com/.
You must create an account in order to use this viewer. The 'alpha' (used for holes and wheel arches) and the opacity (windscreens) aren't perfect, you should ignore that and not try to improve that. In the actual model in VRC it will be OK.
The psd (Photoshop template) has been prepared for the Scorpion short course truck body. If you have any questions, just post them here or in the forum.
The Autodesk viewer will ask you to upload the file set needed for the viewer. Save these files in a separate folder.
To see your own 'paintjob' you must replace file 'skor_diff.jpg' with your own design but use the same file name.
When you are satisfied with the design take some screenshots (top-right) and download these screenshots. You can show your design in the new foum: http://www.vrcworld.com/forums/posts.aspx?topic=214219&opt=1D1
A complete set of pody paintjobs consists of 8 different designs or color variations, up to you.
Once you have a set of 8 put them in 1 jpg file, size 4096 px wide and 2048 pix high, so 2 rows of 4.
Save that file with your own name and project, for example: 'mike rogers sc truck body.jpg' and send the image to me using www.wetransfer.com/url], address to pieter@virtualrc.com
I will then complete the job, check the files and designs and compile the project to become a new body. Last step will be releasing it to our live servers.
Look forward to some great designs!
Pieter
