1:12 SCALE ELECTRIC RELEASED
Virtual Racing Industries has added a 4th racing class to their r/c racing sim VRC Pro: 1:12 scale electric on-road. This is a popular class especially during winter time as this class is mainly raced indoors.
The first release for 1:12 are 3 spec chassis, the generic Intercept ER12, the Associated RC12R5 and the new Xray X12. The spec versions of the chassis have limited set-up options so it’s all about racing and not about a lot of knowledge and experience about set-up and squeezing the very last tenth of a second out of your chassis. In Spec racing everybody has the same chance, the best racer wins!
The 1:12 Spec class is raced with stock 10.5T brushless motors with non-boosted electronic speed controllers. VRC Pro offers components from LRP, Nosram, Novak, Tekin and Speed Passion, all in stock specification.
The new 1:12 chassis feature the modern link suspension, something that had VRC Pro physics engineer Todd ‘Doc’ Wasson puzzled because it is anything but a normal suspension system. The geometrical model was created and it certainly took time to fully understand how this unconventional suspension system works. With some further fine tuning of the chassis and the tires with the help of Ronald Völker, Tobias Brunke and others, the result is impressive. The car handles very closely to what you expect of a 12 scale carpet racer, sharp yet docile steering response and tons of grip.
For 1:12 modified a bit more time is needed to get the chassis and the tires spot on, but the Spec chassis will surely keep you busy for a while!
HAARLEM 2012 WC TRACK
Virtual Racing Industries also releases the 2012 IFMAR Worlds track, located in a big sporting facility in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The 150m track is fast and challenging, and is specially designed for 1:12 scale although the lay-out also suits 1:10 ISTC very well. Of course the track features Time trial rankings and multi-player! So start practicing for the 2012 IFMAR Worlds… If you can’t make it to the real Worlds, this is your next best chance to experience the Worlds track!

it was indeed a tough delivery and we worked our a.... off the last week but we were determined to release before Xmas. I hope you all like the new 1:12 class and the Worlds track. Modified will be released soon too, will be more interesting to drive on the larger carpet tracks.
