We will release new B-compound front and rear rubber tires for the 1:10 ISTC class this Saturday morning, October 12th. The new B-compound tires have been developed to be used as a pair, front and rear. The B-compound tires have improved acceleration and braking performance (longitudinal traction) and more direct steering characteristics while maintaining cornering stability. However, the new B-compound tires require you to work on set-up to achieve the best results in laptimes and 'feel'. Below are some comments by some of the beta testers.

Big thanks to the Beta testers for their relentless efforts to improve the rubber tires. The objective was to bring the tires closer to what is being used in real r/c racing, and with that, a set-up configuartion that which reflects a modern 1:10 ISTC chassis! I strongly feel that with the new B-compound tires we have accomplished these goals.

Some set-up comments of the Beta testers regarding the new B-compound tires:

"The main thing you want to do with the new B compound tires is to stiffen the front of the car and or soften the rear, this can be done by adjusting the sway bars, (stiffening the front and softening the rear.).

The springs are also a good thing to adjust on the modified chassis again stiffer front softer rear. One thing I found to be helpful on the stock car is to tighten the rear diff on asphalt to help give the car a bit less off power steering, how ever on carpet I found the spec car to have not enough steering in entering corners so loosening the rear diff was helpful, this is because the tires use different physics parameters for carpet and asphalt, which is an other thing to take into account when setting up the car.

Moving the weight bias closer to the rear of the car when running in the modified class to gain more rear traction, this also has the side affect of making the car looser entering the corner, so adjust the other settings accordingly.

The final thing I have to recommend to people using the new B compound tires is to use more realistic values when setting up the car because the new B compound tires have physics properties that are more realistic and closer to more modern touring cars, so using more realistic setup values makes more sense when running the B compound tires."

From another Beta tester:
"Fully agree! With the old tire we fought for the front traction, now we have front traction, we need to find the ballance between front and rear."
