From the previous Worlds videos it becomes evident that most racers don't really seem to care what body and paintscheme he or she is using. We certainly like to see more variation of bodies, colorschemes and rim colors in the 2024 Worlds videos, and I am sure you do too!
Aerodynamic properties of ALL bodies for a certain class are always identical, swithching to another style therefore does not affect the performance of your car! so for example in 1:8 nitro GT3 class racing the Corvette GT3 or the Porsche GT3 makes absolutely no difference!
With the 2024 VRC Worlds now in full swing I like to ask all participants to not just use one of the 'default' bodies and paintscheme, but to select another one of the many other body models. Then pick one of the 10 paintschemes that come with that body and select your decal set. And last select the wheel style and color to match the paintscheme of your body. In that way we will see a great variety of bodies in the 2024 Worlds videos!
This is how you proceed:
- go to the Car Set-up screen in VRC Pro
- select the car set-up that you are going to race
- select the option 'Bodies' on the left and pick one
At the top row:
- set the paintscheme color
- select the wheel color
- select the sponsor decal set *
- select the car number corresponding with your start number in the semi or main final *
(*) not available for all bodies
When you are satisfied with the way your car looks, your personalized body, save your setup.
If you are on the track and want to change the paintscheme color, rim color or the decal set you have the option to change them in the pitstop menu. Make sure to confirm the changes else they will not be implemented. When your race or practice session is over make sure to save the whole setup once more.
I hope that this will contribute to a greater variety in body styles, paintschemes and colors during the 2024 Worlds.
Enjoy the racing!

to add to this, each body has a set of parameters which define the aerodynamic properties:
- frontal area
- drag resistance factor
- downforce distribution front and rear
- downforce effect of the spoiler
There are other parameters which affect the cooling of the engine/motor.
These parameters affect the handling of the car and its balance. The body position f/r and the rear spoiler height are adjustable. But again, regardless of the body style and shape, all bodies in a certain class have the same properties.
