Of the 10 qualified for the Main Final only 5 racers were able to do their Main Final runs, with the absent 5 racers most likely being involved in 'real' r/c racing that weekend. But this Main Final produced nevertheless the closest finish ever: just 0.014 seconds separating 1 and 2. The spectacular Barco track offered some of the best off-road racing ever seen. Imagine on this track 2024 World Champion Gary Crowell doing just 1 'bad' 34 seconds lap, just 1 lap in the 33 seconds and all the other laps in the 32 seconds. And runner-up Luke Skywalker (alias for Billy Caley) about the same. You should really check out the lap chart!

The Montpellier off-road track is not only one of the most scenic off-road tracks, it is also one of the most challenging off-road tracks with a great variety of corners, jumps and track surfaces. The 2024 Worlds Short Course Trucks saw many lead changes. Multi talent and 2024 World Champ 1:12 electric Wiktor Smid had his usual crash at the beginning of the Main Final but then showed his class with all laps but 2 in the 33 seconds range, on such a difficult track! Simply insane: The Bamberg Oval course measures 152m, and the winner averaged 6.289 sec/lap with his fastest laptime being 6.170 sec, and averaging 87km/h with a topspeed of 114.8km/h. Who else then the 'King of the Ovals' can produce these numbers. The new Bamberg asphalt oval presented a complete new challenge to the oval racers, gaining even a tenth of a second could take 2 or 3 laps. See for yourself!

Can anyone beat Mr. Flack or should we say Mr. 'Checkered Flag' as he always seems to be first at the finish line. He has several nicknames, 'King of the Ovals', 'the Metronome', ticking of laps within one tenths of a second as if it's AI that controls the car. This SC Truck Dirt Oval race is again testimony of his supremacy on the ovals, dirt and asphalt. Billy Caley from the US and Nutty Fox had to settle for 'best of the rest' after a closed battle for 2nd and 3rd.

A first in the VRC World Championship Series: 1:10 electric Stadium Trucks aka 'the Basher'. Huge tires, high on the wheels. These high power but yet very forgiving trucks are racing at the Bash Pit Long Course. This indoor track is based on the 2013 RCX Show demo track at Long Beach California. Looks like this Stadium Truck class is here to stay as an ideal 'beginner' class for Bashers who want to give 'racing between the lines' a shot.

Unbeatable on the ovals, asphalt or dirt, Jimmy Flack does it again with the 1:8 nitro buggies. Mr. Metronome has demonstrated once more his incredible feel for racing oval tracks within 0.1 and often 0.05 seconds per lap, lap after lap after lap... Andrea Novati from Italy showed a strong performance finishing 2nd and Tobias Lindgren from Sweden 3rd. Guillaume Cognon (F) missed out on the podium by just 0.3 sec.

Who will throw Jimmy Flack of his undisputed Oval thrown? Will he ever? Another chance gone by on the new Small Oval course at the Extreme Racing Complex, the latest addition to this complex bringing the total to 14 lay-outs! Jimmy did it again but was surely challenged by Simon Wood from the UK who managed to stay in striking distance the whole 10 minutes Main final, finishing just 5 seconds behind. Graham Raistrick (UK) finished a strong 3rd 6 sec. behind Wood, dropping back all the way to 10th after just 6 laps, An incredible recovery race!

It has never happened before but it has now. Another racer other than Jimmy Flack leading a Worlds final oval racing for over a second... Billy Caley put up a real fight with Mr. Oval Jimmy Flack and led the Main Final 1:8 electric buggies at the VRC Dirt Oval for some 30 laps before he surrendering to Flack and finishing just 2 seconds behind the 'King'. Swiss Stefan Sidler finished in 3rd place 1 lap down on Caley.

Mirko 'the Hulk' Salemi from Italy has added another 1:8 nitro on-road title to his palmaris, this time in GT3 at the new XTREME Medium Track 6. The track was released shortly before the Worlds and has proven to be a great addition to VRC Pro. Graham Raistrick from the UK had to dropped back to fifth at the beginning of the race but then recovered to finish 2nd 2 laps down on Salemi. Alexander Gjemble from Norway finished 3rd just 3 seconds down on Raistrick.

Due to unforeseen issues with the high grip crawler tires being used on the 1:10 Basher truck, the Basher and Crawler classes have been redefined to force only Basher and Crawler components to be used for these respective classes. A quite complex and involving work-around solution was found over this weekend to achieve this. As the car class structure had to be changed for this purpose, the current 2024 VRC Worlds event for the 1:10 Basher at the Bash Pit Long track has been abandoned and is replaced with a new 2024 VRC Worlds event for this the 1:10 Basher class.
This new event will start Monday Dec. 2nd at 12:00 and has been shortened to 3 days qualifying, 2 days semi finals and 2 days for the Main Final, and will finished as scheduled.
We apologize for for this inconvenience but we had no other option than to fix this problem immediately.
Enjoy this 2024 VRC Worlds event nevertheless.
