He claimed victory at Psycho Nitro Blast 2013 with the 1:8 electric buggy after a close battle with US ace Tom Rinderknecht and Marcel Krüger from Germany. WOLLANKA DOES IT AGAIN, ANOTHER WORLD TITLE

Martin Wollanka keeps adding World Chamionship titles to his crown, this time he reigned at the Messina Dirt track in Italy with the 1:10 SC trucks. It didn't come easy this time, the track lents itself for very close racing and that's exactly what happened. It was only at the last par of the race where he could create a 1 second gap with Hillman and Crowel.

Watch the video, exciting race with professional commentary by Mike Garrison.

BERMAN WINS FIRST EVER 1/8 NITRO GT3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The 1/8 Nitro GT3 Modified chassis was released just in time for the 2018 World Championship. As such, this was the first ever race for the class. Last year VRC Pro introduced the 1/8 Nitro GT3 Spec class just before the 2017 World Championships but (as with any spec class) setup and tuning options are limited. This year’s introduction of the modified class opened up all access to all settings and provided a more powerful modified engine. The result: faster cars and faster lap times. By way of example, the 1/8 Nitro GT3 Spec World Championship was held a Bamberg in April of 2018, fast laps for Spec class were 15.2 – 15.3 with straightaway speeds of 105km/h. Whereas fast laps for the Modified were 14.9 – 15.0 with straightaway speeds of 110km/h. In fact, in Modified class the three Pro Level podium finishers completed the grueling 45-minute final with an average lap time (excluding pitstops) of 15.2-15.3 seconds.

TONY DUGAN TAKES 2018 WORLDS TITLE RALLY-X SPEC

Tony Dugan from the US has claimed victory at the 2018 VRC Worlds for 1:8 electric Rally-X Spec class at the new VRC Dirt 2 track. This must have been one of the closest contested finals evenr in VRC history. It was Ely Rojas who led most of the 10 minute final but he was challended by Dugan, Yeung and Berman who were always within striking distance, most of the final within a second. Rojas took very tight lines in the switch back hairpins using the dirt edge, and got away 34 of his 35 laps, but in lap 29 he took the hairpin too tight and rolled the car. That gave the other 3 a break of 2 seconds and despite some very fast laps he was not able to close the gap anymore with the 3 front runners. The race was now between Dugan, Yeung and Berman. Dugan increased the pace and was able to cross the finish line first to earn a well deserved VRC Worlds title.
