SEASON 1 2017 1:8 ELECTRIC BUGGY SPEC round 6 Montpellier
Sixth round of 1:8 electric buggy spec serie was fighted at Montpellier demanding track. At PRO level two Canadians, Andrew Bucar and Dan Phillion were in charge and were setting the pace. From the start Bucar was holding first position and everything looked convincing for him.
But end of the fifth lap, things got harder for him,as he flipped his car and Phillion got the lead.
Pace was pretty much same with these two and without mistakes, now Phillion was favourite to take this one. But it wasnt over. Phillion had leaded this group ten laps, only two laps left and in same jumps, where Bucar had done his mistake, now it was time Phillion to struggle. By his struggle he dropped to second place and Bucar got the lead. Bucars only job was to bring car safe to ”home” and so he did. Bucar crossed the line in first and Phillion in second place, 4 seconds behind.
American Reece Hodges was third, 17 seconds behind the winner.
Phillion and Bucar solved PRO level victory
SPORT level race was also two mans deal. French Gaetan Anger and Finland`s Marko Laitinen were those two to follow. Both, Anger and Laitinen were really strong from the begining. Anger was leading and Laitinen was on chase. Anger leaded this race 15 laps when he got in trouble. Actually, those two last laps were total disaster from him and by these, Laitinen got the lead.
Finally, Laitinen with his consistent style, crossed the line first and took well deserved win. Have to be really sorry for Anger, his performance was so great until he got in trouble.
But all in all, great race and pace from both. To be honest, both these drivers were such furios pace that they were places one and two in overall results.
Serieleader Dani Tortuga was third in this race.
Laitinen was strongest at SPORT level
In CLUB level French Nicolas Hallier didnt show no mercy to others. He won the race with convincing, crushing style. Maybe, 43 seconds gap to second place, tells that he definitely is higher level racer. Just great performance from Nicolas! Congrats!
Second in this club level race was Italian Mattia Basaglia and third Matthew Francis from Britain.
Nicolas Hallier took crushing win

I agree Peter, in MOST PERFECT calculation in every race and in overall results, there should be ALL pro guys first then sport and club drivers next. Impossible😁
I suppose there will never be such calculation what would arrange drivers perfectly for every class, with precise period. These things just appears time to time.

Sport man faster than the pro class drivers... It's a strange game sometimes.
