Welcome to the RT Drifting and NASCAR oval.

Now added NASCAR Spec oval racing.
Right Drifting (turn Right To Go Left drifting) is aimed at using the 'Drift 01' tyres, to promote drift practice. 'Drift' tyres have too much grip and are best used for setting up Time Trial records. I will be interested to know how many racers want to take part in drifting events. Any ideas welcome. Sharing setup files and replays will be helpful.

Drifting skills

Use the VRC Practice Ground to adjust your setup to allow power on controlled slides.

At first large circles around a bot dot.
Next figure of 8's between 2 bot dots.

You will find a combination of power and steering will keep the slide going. This takes real skill without any form of gyro help. I.e. the more you practice the better you get.

Next you are ready to move onto a circuit to try and position the car to slide past each apex and keep the drift going long enough to transition to the next corner.

Going down long narrow straights remains a problem, the spec car will not track straight and needs a series of gentle curves.

The modified car we can adjust the toe angle front and back to make the car run in straight lines. I would like to change the default spec drift car to run better - once we can all agree on a new spec setup. The aim being to help people try out drifting and maybe get some multi-player events going.

Best drift tracks?

Not tested either myself!

Not so sure about Osaka drift (has no barriers).
