Welcome at the 2016 VRC Worlds 1:8 nitro buggies at the 2016 IFMAR Worlds off-road track in Las Vegas!

The race direction on this track will be NORMAL (clockwise).

This virtual Worlds will be raced in 4 rounds:

Timed practice - Tuesday Dec. 20 till Friday Dec. 23 (not mandatory round)
Qualifying - Saturday Dec. 24 till Tuesday Dec. 27 (cut at 500!)
Semi Finals - Wednesday Dec. 28 till Friday Dec. 30 (cut at 300!)
Main Finals - Saturday Dec. 31 till Monday Jan. 2

The VRC Worlds 1:8 nitro buggies Open class will NOT be divided in 3 racer classes, so just one class and one VRC World Champion.

Finnish Markku Honkanen has won the 60 minute long A-Main final of the 2016 VRC Worlds for 1:8 nitro buggies at RC Tracks of Las Vegas. It was a hard fought win over Warren Jones from the US who had to settle for 2nd after several challenges for the lead but Honkanen was the more consitent driver on the finish line. James Le Pavoux from the UK finished 3rd over a lap down from the 2 front runners to complete the 2016 Worlds podium. Worth noting: Honkanen pitted 4 times, Jones 5 times, a good pit strategy does pay off...

The demanding RC Tracks of Las Vegas surely took its toll with all the bumps and holes that were present on the virtual Las Vegas track just like they were during the real IFMAR Worlds in October 2016. David Ronnefalk who was earlier crowned VRC World Champion 1:8 electric buggies on the same track was the big absentee in this main final. Although qualifying 4th he wasn't able to make the finals due to retuning ill from an oversees promotion trip just before Christmas. With his 60 minute IFMAR Worlds final still fresh in his memory he could have been a real challenger for the podium.

Nations Cup
Victory went to Finland with 2 drives in the A-Main and the Worlds title, Italy was a strong second with also 2 finalists, the UK had to settle for 3rd despite the strong 3rd place of Le Pavoux and Knight.
