DIRT SPEEDWAY 2 OUT - RALLY-X CHASSIS UPDATED

16.10.2017   Category: Site news

We have released the first of a series of 3 dirt tracks based located in our VRC Speedway complex. In the future we will also release a dirt oval (Dirt 1) and a dirt version of the current Speedway Long Course (Dirt 3).

The dirt speedway tracks will have no jumps, just dirt to enhance the RallyX experience. It's all about drifting and power slides around the tight hairpins to be fast!

The next events for RallyX Spec and Modified class will be raced on this new track. As we are late with releasing this new track we have exented Qualifying round for Spec class with 1 day.

Enjoy the new track!

And don't forget to Like and Share the video on your social media!

RallyX chassis updated
We have updated the RallyX modified chassis with an option to adjust the overdrive to the front wheels. This can be sset in the pitstop dialog at the diff settings. This setting changes the gearing so that more or less drive goes to the front wheels. Together with other setup option like the diffs and anti-roll bars, the front overdrive setup option allows you to finetune the chassis on drifting and cornering performance even more.

I agree with Warren.
and
I think the Rally cars are worth it too.
And the new GT3 cars should be very popular.

Many buggy racers use 1/12th or GT12 for practice in the winter, VRC pro should be a no brainer for all R/C racers to get more track time etc. Anyone done a survey of R/C drivers?

In the meantime anyone can work on the existing SC10 modified to try and create what feels like a 2 wheel drive version, a forum slot should be made to collect setups and opinions. Also the 1/8 EBuggy can be made to behave more like 2WD. If more 2WD drivers would make a contribution that's the best way to show interest.

Look at the most popular classes on VRC now... mainly offroad probably. And I'd say 1:10 buggy would be bigger than all existing VRC classes combined... not a bad place to put your effort

Track is great! A lot of fun! Being flat doesn't seem to matter because the corners are interesting and the level if grip is good for powerslides. It's cool to have some variety like this.Easy track for anyone to drive too!

About 1:10 : I tend to agree with Mark. I think that's the best place to focus limited resources. You've got to listen to what people want. Even if you have a first version that's maybe not perfect at least you have 1:10 and those folks have a reason to join. 4wd could be done easily as a scaled down, more nimble ebuggy. 2wd is harder because it's a whole different transmission but honestly if you give up trying to be perfect you could have a fairly believable 2wd with existing physics just by changing parameters like vehicle size, drive, front wheel width, weight distribution, etc.

I think it's worth a try at least. Far better to have something than have nothing. People have imagination and as long as it drives approximately like it should , they'll be happy. Improvements can be done later. If you have flagging interest I don't think you have much to lose, right? Why not?

Mark, no problem. We do our best to make VRC Pro more atractive but we are limited by no bieing able to make changes to the physics any longer which makes it very hard to introduce complete new class like 1:10 buggies and maintaining the level of realism we are used to.

Promote VRC to your r/c friends, like and share videos posted here, that will hopefully bring more people to VRC too!

I don't care if no more classes get added , even if vrc only had one class I would still be on it. As far as a business decision goes for vrc. If it's costing money to add more stuff to the rally and the numbers aren't there maybe the money could be used another way. 1/10 , 1/5 I don't care I was only suggesting what could be possible with the existing platform that may create more interest.
If it's impossible with the existing platform so be it . I am not trying to be negative or start a personal war it isn't my business, I'm a member who hopes that vrc grows and gets more popular.

One of the reasons why 1:10 buggies is big is that there are plenty of clubs and tracks to race, you don't need much to race a 1:10 buggy! For that reason I would not be amazed if there will be relative little interest in racing 1:10 buggies in a sim because there is plenty of real world activity close by...

Hi Pieter, like I said I love vrc. I can't believe more people don't do it. The money you save on tyres, parts, fuel, batteries and so on while practicing on vrc as compared to real life would be staggering.
I know your time is precious and I guess that was my point. If you look at the hype and interest when a new 1:10 buggy is released as opposed to a rally car it's very different. I think the 1:10 buggy market is more vrc s target market is all. I know it's not that simple.
I run my local Rc club and do I have all the answers ? No way . I can't tell you the time , effort and lost sleep trying to please everyone, attract new members, trophies, track builds, giving people tyres, parts, transponders even cars to use but I can't figure people out. What one person likes , there is another person doesn't like it.
Thanks Mark

I love vrc but looking at the number of entries into each rally event do we really think that maybe it was a waste of resources. Maybe a 1/10 4wd buggy could have been possible with the existing physics, I know it's not that simple but I'm sure numbers would have been much different. It's never to late to admit it and stop wasting your time flogging a dead horse. Rather have less classes with quality numbers. Just my thought

1:10 buggies are not on the list, is complex issue. In the meantime let's focus on what we have to offer. RallyX is a fun class which will develop over time. We have plenty of popular competition classes, so why don't we have more entries in all these other classes?
