The 2014 racing calendar is now published with Season 1 Series for all 6 classes.
The 2014 Series are 6 races each of which your 4 best results count for the Series Championship. All races will be split up in Pro, Sport and Club classes.
All Spec classes have their own Series championship, but other than in 2013 the Spec Series get level 1 points so they weigh less in the rankings.
1:8 Nitro buggies is a new official racing class in VRC Pro now, also weekly's have been created on 4 different tracks. For 1:8 nitro buggies there is no Spec class.
1:12 Electric sportscars class also has a series of Weekly's this year on VRC Carpet 2, with alternating directions.
If you haven't checked your Racer level yet, this is the time to do it. Your skill level has been measured in the previous season and has been adjusted for the new season. You can race in the same class as your skill level indicates, or you can opt to race in a higher class, up to you. When yopu decide to change your racer class during the season you will loose your series championships points.
Check your skill and racer level now!

I like the new "6 minutes for all" format, same as in the Belgian SCT Cup :)

THank you very much Pieter,.. that sounds Great!!!
I had not considered the points before, as I have never had to worry about them, as I'm not that good,..lol. Great Idea, less points for spec, seems very reasonable!
I also wanted to point out, the added Grip at SD is a MAJOR improvement!!! The trucks feels so much closer to real when losing control too. They always have felt good, until you mess up,.. then, not so much, but the added grip has def helped with that!!! Now, That is the grip I expect from a track,.. as it feels dam close to the grip I'm used to outside!!!

I have given the Spec class some more hard thought and have decided to change it back to open to all, and to race with opponents, so very much like past season. So this is now changed for the Round 1 events which start in a few hours time, I'll change the other 5 rounds tomorrow. I'll change the text in the news item to reflect this, else this discussion may continue.
The only change I have made is to award less points for the Spec event than for the modified event. There is a nasty issue with the rankings, Modified and Spec should not be counted as one ranking but it requires quite a serious change in the way this is programmed to fix this, and we have just never come to do it. Allocating lower points for Spec is reasonable in this respect.

watching the reactions on the spec class format... My idea is to give another format to Club level racers only.

Does this say no opponent mode for spec racing???? WHY!?!?!?!?! That is some of the BEST opponent racing to do!!! And NO SPEC FOR SPORT!!!! Are you FN kidding me??????? NooooooO!!! This is not good at ALL!!!! :( I guess in that case, Imma have to step down to club series! Good-Bye everyone in Sport class! OK,.. scratch that,. I can't!!! GAY! :(
as far as the reverse tracks,.. I love em,.. about half the tracks I prefer backwards, and the other half is always a fun challenge to find the new lines! :)
