2017 SEASON 2 1:8 NITRO BUGGY SPEC round 5 NEO-9

PRO level

American talented youngster Tom Rinderknecht was showing remarkable pace during the qualifying. Something about his skills tells when also Worldchampion Warren Jones was behind when round ended. Ok, Warren wasnt far, and it was just early stage of this event and pace would go better lap by lap with both of these talents. There was only 0.6 seconds separating Rinderknecht and Jones. And it was looking even more promising as Austrian Martin Wollanka was standing at third spot, and he was also really close, only 0.8 seconds away from fastest pace. French talent Gaetan Anger earned fourth grid for the final, he was 3.2 seconds from Rinderknecht.
Maryan Beresh was fifth and Harry Schnarkowski sixth fastest. Robert Hillman who had made comeback, was struggling a bit with rhytm and pace, b... read more

Report by J-P.Huhtala (VRC race reporter)

VRC PRO 2016 SEASON 3 1:8 NITRO BUGGY ROUND 4 NEO 9

At qualifying Markku Honkanen from Finland was on his own, when he wonned this round with 6 seconds margin before other Finnish driver Ari Koski. Third place went to Sweden, Robert Hillman doned nice run and was about 8 seconds behind TQ. Fourth and fifth in qualifying was Jonas Larsson from Sweden and Tommi Vacklin from Finland. Larsson and Vacklin had pretty similar pace with Hillman, as these three drivers were all inside in 0.4seconds.
Warren Jones from USA drove to 6th and Mikael Yrjänäinen to 7th grid. Also these drivers had pretty same pace, Jones was almost 11 seconds and Yrjänäinen 12seconds from the TQ.
After these drivers, rest of the field was Uwe De Zwart from Austria, Jarno Halonen from Finland and Charly Bruneteau from France. These three drivers had about 20 seconds gap to TQ Honkanen.

Event report for: 2016 SEASON 1 1:10 SC TRUCKS 13.5T SPEC ROUND 5

The 2016 SEASON 1 1:10 SC truck 13.5T SPEC round 5 race was held at the twisting, turning and off cambered NEO-9 where many great races have taken place on VRC. With the 13.5T motor, line can be limited or more difficult to take than with modified motors that create much more power. These races were each about who made the least amount of mistakes as with SPEC racing, time is difficult to make up. I am no artist but I will try to paint the racing picture.

In the pro class, the grid started out with Colby Waddell settling in at TQ followed by Sandro Cabreira, Sean Krause, Robert Hillman, Tony Dugan, Patrick Hofer, Tommaso Andreuccetti, and Christophe DELAMARE. Absent from the A-main in the pro class were Joan Espasa and Jiri Mara who qualified 6th and 8th respectively.
At the start of the race, Robert Hillman made a huge leap going from 4th to 2nd at the starting line only to fall back to last immediately from a wreck in the 2nd turn. Altho... read more

WOLLANKA WINS ROUND 11 AT NEO-14

It looked like Series leader Malinski had the race covered at Round 11 of Season 1 at NEO14, but as so often in off-road racing, you've got to stay out of trouble to make it to the finish line first. The whole 20 minute A-Main he battled with Austrian Martin Wollanka for the lead, and as he was hoping for a 1-stop fuel strategy he was looking to walk away with another win until the last 3 laps of this race. His fuel strategy didn't work out and a very late pitstop 30 seconds before the end dropped him back right on Wollanka's bumper. Tobias Isacson blew it right at the start and had to race all the way from the back of the field and managed to secure the 3rd podium place after a hard race with Fredrik Boden and Thomas Engman. Watch the video to see how this A-Main unwinded.
